CARSON GRAHAM'S boys’ wrestling team added another provincial championship banner to
the North Vancouver high school’s gymnasium as they won the B.C. team title. in addition,
Carson’s girls’ team also won their respective provincial championship. Both teams are
coached by Joe McCullum, Guilio Decotiis, Mo Asgari, Mike Lidstone and John Buchanan.

Last year, Lions Gate soccer
player Michael Vassiliou died from
Hodgkins Disease. He was 15.

In memory of the young athlete,
the Lions Gate Soccer Association
is hosting a Memorial tournament to
raise funds for the B.C. Cancer
Society.

Profits realized from the tourna-
ment entry fees from the eight par-
ticipating teams” ($150 cach) and
from a Lions Club concession stand

society. Raffle tickets will also be
on sale during game days.

“As of two weeks prior to the
tournament, all our expenses are
covered, so every nickel we get now
goes right to the Cancer Society,”
said tournament organizer Tom
Bell. .

Bell is also anticipating that ref-
erees will donate their time to work
the memorial tournament. Linesmen
roles will be filled by students from
Balmoral school as part of their
community service curriculum.

Games will be played from 10
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both Saturday
and Sunday at the North Vancouver
park (located at east end of 15th
Street in North Vancouver).

A study involving an investigational drug for genital herpes i is currently being conducted. Male
volunteers between the ages of 18 and 45 with recurrent genital herpes are required. Patients will
receive either study drug or placebo containing no active drug. Total study period is 72 weeks.

This study involves an 8 week screening period, a 52 week treatment period and a 12 week
follow up period. All three periods require semen samples every 2 weeks. A frequent genital herpes:
pattern is not required. An honorarium is offered.
