ml e . ht ‘Three distraug WEST VANCOUVER Police responded to three reports of distraught persons on Lions Gate Bridge during the long weekend, No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, according to a West Vancouver Police spokesman. The incidents involved: @ a 32-year-old North Vancouver man who climbed approximately 38 metres (125 feet) ubove the bridge deck on Saturday morning; Ba 33-year-old man, of no fixed address, who climbed onto the catwalk under the bridge deck on Sunday evening; Bia 16-year-old distraught female who was reported on the bridge at 10:40 p.m. on Monday. Police took the individuals to Lions Gate Hospital. Quick response EAGLE-EYED FIREFIGHTERS who happened to he * rolling down the hill in the British Properties at 6:33 p.m. on July 26@ spotted smoke billowing out of a house at 1356 Tyrol. They arrived on the doorstep just as the occupant was dialling 911 to report a kitchen fire. Assistant chief Steve Sentes said a pot had overflowed and caused a fire that damaged kitchen cabinets and a skylight. Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control. Damage was estimated at several thousand dollars. Parolee arrested A 21-YEAR-OLD man wanted Canada-wide in connec- tion with parole violations was arrested on Saturday in West Vancouver. Andrew Collie, of no fixed address, was stopped by West Vancouver Police at 3:30 am. on Capi mo Road, according to a West Vancouver Police spokesman. The susp.ct was believed to be ia possession of stolen property at the time of his arrest, according to police. A potice spokesman said officers were skeptical about the name the maa gave. The suspect carried no identifi- cation. An investigatien revealed that Collie had been incarcerated in Quebec Federal Penitentiary before being released on parole. Te press time, Collie was in custody, waiting to be turned over to Corrections Canada. Burglary charges A 28-YEAR-OLD Vancouver man, recently arrested in Vancouver during an alleged burglary, has been charged with three counts of burglary and two counts of posses- sing stolen property relating to West Vancouver inci- dents. Perry John Jarvis was arrested on July 21, according toa West Vancouver Police spokesman. West Vancouver Police undercover officers were involved in the arrest.
