The award was based on voting by Pen Magazine’s readers and the over 3,000 people who attend- ed the PenExpo conference held this month in Santa Clara, California. NEW SUSSEX TEAM A NEW management team has been appointed to head the opera- tions of North Vancouver-based Sasex Realty. The local company recently merged with another North Shore firm, Mitten Realty Led. Brian has been nam- ed as Sussex’s new chief executive officer. He has held several senior positions in Vancouver and Toronto with Hallmark Proper- ties, NRS/Bilock Bros. and Col- dwell Ganker Affiliates of Canada. Alisa Taylor, who directed the Sussex and Mitten merger, has been named vice-president of operations. The new appointment gives the former North Shore alderman and Lioas Gate Hespital board member more time to become involved with community activities. Chris O’Brien, vice-president of administration and education, will manage the Sussex Realty office on West 6th Street in North Vancouver, which used to be a Mitten Realty office. O’Brien will be joined there by Mitten founders Chuck Mitten and George Whyte while Gordon Harmoa, a member of the Sussex team since 2981, will work out of the West 16th Street office as vice-president of sales.
