Voice of reason silenced? Dear Editor: I find it more than a little inter- esting that you are only publishing letters from people opposed to Doug Collins’ views, particularly since I am aware that several peo- ple have written you in the last few weeks supporting Mr. Collins. The fact that Mr. Collins has a rather large following on the North Shore was evidenced very clearly by the tremendous support given him prior to the last election. Doesn't that give you a Message? Or are you setting us up for the inevitable? Now that the North Shore News has been sold to Southam, are you going to silence the one voice of reason left who speaks on behalf of so many of us who love this country and don’t want to see it turned into a suburb | of Hong Kong or another third world? Frankly, I would not be surprised. Barbara Eiffer North Vancouver Editor’s note: Letters — both against or in support of Doug Col- lins, or any other columnist — have a better chance of being published if they make specific references to columns, arguments or opinions. Generic letters of praise or criticism fail to shed new light on an issue, and therefore are less likely to be published. Ski patrol appreciated Dear Editor: I wish to highly commend members of the Cypress Crass Country ski patrol. After having an accident on the slopes Jan. 22, I found the team to be a professional, dedicated and caring group of people.
