“The lingerie collection represents a major part of
our business.’ said Mortan, whe notes that U.S,
orders for her lingerie designs have doubled in the
PUM sear,

“in the tS. we are now considered trendsetters
within the industry, and in New York we have found
leading retailers frequently use our designs in feature
window displays and as highlights ino their fashion
presentations,’* said Morton.

Stand-outs: the new fantasy creations in her famous
Limited Edition group, which now includes a selection
of daywear pieces as well as heidoom quality gowns
and wraps embellished with antique lace, beading and
sulk roses.

Richards is the venue for the talent
competition beginning at 8 p.m. on
Tuesday, August 18. The Miss
Photogenic competition takes
place at the lower grandstand level
of the Exhibition Park Racetrack
on Wednesday, August 19 at 8:30
p.m.
The panel of judges consists of
TV star Dale Robertson; Van-
couver radio personality, Rita
Woodman; former beauty queen
and director of Sharon Dorais/
Blanche Macdonald Modelling and
Talent International Inc., Sharon
Dorais; Canadian fashion design-
er, Dominic Bellissimo; Joan Har-
rison of Mega Beauty Productions
and a senior judge at both the Miss
Asia Pacific and Miss Wonderland
Pageants; Howe Street’s own
Murray Pezim; casting director Sid
Kozak and Vancouver businessmen
Bob Donas and Basil Pantages.

Among the sponsors are

Australian Gold Mines Corpora-
tion, Fuji Electrocell Corporation,
London Drugs, Richards on
Richards, B.C. Jockey Club and
KVOS-TV.
’ The ballroom seats 1,200 and
the organizers are pleased that over
half the tickets are sold. Tickets
are $100 and $85 and are being
sold in the main lobby of the Hyatt
or by calling 682-1300.

Net proceeds from the pageant

are directed to Project New Begin-
nings, a Vancouver-based founda-
tion dedicated to helping abused
women and children.

silk charmeuse tinted rosewater, mint, peach, sable,
periwinkle and white. while Limited Edition ex-
emplifies new fevels of Juxury in elaborate desizns
with names such as “Enchante™ and ‘Whimsical’.

Morton has also responded to today’s craving for
fine lingerie with an array of silk pants and tops
meant for lounging; lots of little daywear silks from
bikinis to chemises, an imaginative selection of
cover-ups, Dlus shawls and wraps designed to step out
for the evening.

area that we look forward to expanding with even
