A dawn raid on a
North Vancouver

McDonalds restaurant
Monday by an armed
man and woman netted
the robbers three
employees and $8.

And the pair made their
getaway before the North
Vancouver RCMP. who
originally treated the = in-
‘cident as a hostage taking,
arrived and cordoned off the
area.

An RCMP spokesman said
the tncident began shortly
after 5 am when a janitor
working at the McDonald's

restaurant at 2053 Lonsdale
Avenue went outside and
was brought back inside by a
man carrying a gun.

The man was ac
companied by a woman
armed with a knive.

The janitor was bound by
tape around the waist and
arms and placed tn a storage
room Another janitor
working in the restaurant
was also ticd up

At about $30 am =the
first female employee
armved on the scene and she
was tied up and placed in a
staff room.

arrived at 5.50 and she was
