Shore investors out $52,800 Anna Marie D’Angels News Reporter dangelo@nsnews.com TWO would-be investors squawked to police after an apparent failed deal to ship $52,800 worth of frozen chickens to Russia. According to search warrant information, North Shore resi- dents Gayle Richardson and David Coles went to West Vancouver Police carlier this year claiming they entered into a business agreement with Mark Antonsen of Stamar Fishing Co. ad. The deal was to buy frozen chickens from Sunrise Poultry and ship them to Russia. In February 1994, Richardson wrote a $52,800US cheque to Antonsen relating to the trozen chickens. As part of the deal, Antonsen and Coles each signed $25,800US promissory notes to Richardson, according to the search warrant granted to West Vancouver Police Det. Jamie Gibson. The chickens never arrived. Coles asked severa! times abour the shipments. According 10 the search warrant, Antonsen said there was a holdup. : After several weeks of asking about the chicken shipment, Coles contacted Sunrise Poultry directly. ’ Sunrise said there were no chicken containers on hold for Antonsen or Stamar Fishing Co Ltd. Sunrise had not received any money from Antonsen or Stamar Fishing Co. The search warrant states that Antonscn admitted to Coles thar the chicken money was used for another deal when Antonsen had been caught short of money. Coles honored the promissory note to Richardson, but .
