STANLEY Hauerwas, Pro- testant Christian ethicist, will speak on The Return to the Vir- - tues: Christian Considerations at the Vancouver School of Theolo- gy’s annual G. Peter Kaye lecture series March 1 and 2. In his work on_ theological ethics, Hauerwas has looked at ‘the importance of character and virtue, which he says can be shaped by our grounding and un- derstanding of the Biblical nar- tatives — that God worked in the lives of our ancestors and works in our lives today. Hauerwas is author of 10 books and numerous articles. He has also written on ethical decision- making on day-to-day situations as. well as issues of abortion, euthanasia and political theory. The series of four lectures will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day in the Chapel of the Epiphany at Vancouver School of Theology, 6050 Chancellor Bivd. on the University of British Columbia campus. Admission is free. Park- ing is available. The G. Peter Kaye lecture series is made possible by a grant from the Vancouver Foundation — in honor of the late G. Peter Kaye, former chancellor of. Vancouver School of Theology, chair of the board of governors and executive director of the Vancouver Foun- dation. Kaye was a member of St. Francis-in-the-Wood Anglican Church, West Vancouver. .
