At the Aug. 27 hearing, resi- dents of a neighboring con- dominium raised concerns aver losing views of the North Shore mountains. But city staff were unable to answer council's questions as to how the project's height compared with surrounding buildings, and exactly how much the neighbors’ views would be affected. Council decided the issue re- quired more information before public scrutiny was closed. City staff were asked to provide the pertinent information before th. Sept. 10 meeting. Although some city — stations have been selling convenience items in contravention of the cur- rent bylaw, city council has decid- ed to amend the bylaw rather than force the stations to stop selling the convenience items. When no one from the public gallery came forward to speak for or against the service station bylaw, Ald. Frank Morris sug- gested that city convenience store owners should be dizectly notified and given a chance to speak on the issue before the public hearing is closed.
