Cellist to give Vancouver recital FORMER HANDSWORTH Sec- ondary student Stephanie Finn will give a recital for the Vancouver Cello Club at the Vancouver Academy of Music on Saturday, May 12. A promising young cellist, Finn has been a scholarship student with Aldo Parisot at Yale University since 1988. In 1987 she graduated from Handsworth with a scholarship to study that year with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi at Ghio State University. In the past few years she has won the B.C. Strings Competition, the Vancouver Symphony Or- chestra Young Concert Artist Competition, and the international Rutger’s Festiva! Competition. She was recently awarded second prize in New York’s prestigious Kussevitsky Competition. Saturday’s program includes works by Beethoven, Barber, Dvorak and De Falla.
