Registration and the first evening of this fall's boating course will be held at Windsor Secondary School, 931 Broadview in North Vancouver on Tues- day, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. All instruction is provided by volunteer members of Seymour Squadron who have successfully completed advanced boating courses and have extensive boating experience. The non-profit organization charges a minimal fee of $85 per person and $135 per couple to cover the cost of course material and rental of the training fa- cility. Upon completion of the boating course, students are invited to join Scymour Squadron, and may then take advanced courses and participate in many cruises and social events. For further information call 988-8094, FALL EVENTS Seniors’ casino held at Whistler LAST YEAR seniors from the North Shore and other parts of the Lower - Mainland and Vancouver Island came together for a weekend of gambl- ing fun, fresh air and socializing at Reno North °87. There was dancing, singing, sightseeing and bingo and a casino with all proceeds going to charity. This year, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, Reno North is happening again, and seniors from all aver B.C. and Washington State are invited to Whistler, The festivities i:.1ude entertainment, programmed activities, spec- tacular alpine sightseeing, bingo and a casino evening. All proceeds from the bingo go to amateur ski racing on Whistler, and all proceeds from the casino go to the Whistler Volunteer Fire Depart- ment. Seniors can come to Reno North 88 alone, with a friend, or as part of a group. All participants have assigned to them a hostess who handles everything from hotel check-in to activity schedules, tours and dinner reservations. The program this year includes tours, dance lessons, nature walks, bridge tournaments and the spectacular Summer Magic ride to the top of Blackcomb Mountain. Entertainment features cocktail piano, sing-alongs, Dixieland bands, comedy and street entertainers. There will also be a gala dance featuring Art Roger’s Big Band, with activities such as spot dances and change- partner dances.
