Reflecting the individual! design-
er’s taste, the cookware is available
in a wide selection of items such as
stove-top kettles, salad bowls and
crystal,

One of the kettles has what Pan-
tages calls a ‘‘!930s whimsy to it”’
and will add a touch of elegance to
any kitchen, modern and tradi-
tional alike.

Already a hot item in the United
States, the architect-designed
cookware is destined to quickly
find its way into the kitchens of
more Canadian cooks.

“It’s going to start happening
here — it'll be popular,’’ Pantages
predicts.

American cooks are snapping up
the very latest in new architect-
designed tableware,

Created by a number of interna-
tional architects, their tableware is
all different and the latest trend is
to combine wares by several de-
signers.

“You just mix and match
them,’’ says. Pantages, who
predicts these items will soon
become the newest hot properties
with more and more Canadian
cooks.

“There is a lot of design hap-
pening now that seems to take its
cue from architectural designs,’’
Pantages says. ‘‘For example,
candlesticks are appearing (in
shapes) like columns.””

The popular terra cotta table-
ware remains a favorite kitchen
item this year. ‘

With this season’s newest kitch-
en-ware, it is time to cook, eat and
be merry.
