If so, Heirloom Discovery Day, held October 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the West Vancouver Presbyterian Church (29th and Marine Drive, West Van couver) is the event you have been waiting for. Sponsored by the North Shore Information and Volunteer Centre, this novel, annual fund raising event has proved to be both intor- mative and a whole lot of fun. Aftique specialists will be ‘on innd to identify your clocks, silver, china, Cana- dian Art, or any ‘other treasured heirlooms. Displays of antiques, in- cluding biscuit barrels, lace and dolls, and demonstra- tions of furniture refinishing and china repair will be featured. Also on view will be a miniature Victorian home, furnished with great care and attention to detail. Among the knowledge specialists will be Norma Young, Eileen Pinkerton- Hayes, Sue Erb and Ann Ramsay all of Maynards; Uno Langman, Harry Hayman, Mr. & Mrs. Kar- dos, Frankie Robinson, Muriel Mitchell from Van- couver. From the North Shore, Douglas Rogers, Geraldine LaCroix, Gil Min and Margaret Eddington. They will be able to tell you more about your family treasures, how old they are, where they were crafted and if they are authentic antiques. (You needn’t worry about dragging over your grand- father clock or dining room suite; pictures and detailed descriptions will do just fine!)
