and waited a while before
driving home as he had been
drinking was still found to be
impaired when he eventually

drove off, North Van
Provincial Court heard
Wednesday.

Brian Kelly, aged 32, of
Sechelt, pleaded guilty to
driving with a blood-alcohol
level exceeding .08 May 27
and was fined $350.

Beauchamp said Kelly was
stopped at a roadblock on
Highway 1 at the Lynn Creek
bridge.

He told the police he had
had two beers but his speech
was slurred and he swayed
when he got out of the car.
A breathalyzer test gave
readings of .13.

Counsel for the defence
said Kelly had been to a
party and had too much to
