GRAHAM Baldwin, headmaster
of Collingwood school in West
Vancouver, has taken a leave of
absence following allegations of
misconduct made by his secre-
tary, Kyoko Mikazaki.

Stephante Green, chair of the private
schools board of governors, said the
board conducted an internal investigation
when Mikazaki’s statement was filed in

QOeteber, which led to Baldwin taking 2
leave of absence.

Last w Green said the board is in
the middle arthe “internal process” of the
investigation and cannot release any intor-
mation about their findings.

Green said the board anticipates finish-
ing the process by the new year. “T wish
we could have resolved this vesterday,
especially stace there are people waiting
onus, but we have to make sure we follow
the proper process.” she said.

Baldwin, in’ a statement of defence
filed on Oct. 26, denies all allegations of
inappropriate physical contact with
Mikazaki. He claims she actually put her
arms around hint and he was taken aback

tal distress relating to the alleged inappro
priate comments he made,

He also asks that the claim be dis-
missed.

Indecent act brings on charges

A 16-year-old North Vancouver boy
was arrested on Nov. 21 in connec-
tion with an indecent act.
