cash grants awarded by
the Matinée Fashion
Foundation Thursday.

Established in °92 to assist
Canadian design talent, the
foundation has recognized 33
designers with financial support
this vear.

The Western Canadian
grant recipients include:

Frou-Frou Designs, makers of
high-quality cotton and silk lin-
gerie as well as a new line of
spa-inspired loungewear thar
includes drawstring pants,
tunic tops and kafians in linen;
Rachel Gorenstein,
Winnipeg-based designer for
family-owned Moulé women’s
clothing, sold in West
Vancouver at Moulé in Park
Royal and on Bowen Island at
Sundance Studio;
@ Christine Morton of
Christine Designs (formerly
Christine and Co.), a 26-year-
old West Van-based company
that has received international

resort collections;

Deborah Tissington, a West
Van resident and partner in
