4 chocolate glazed doughnuts,
halved horizontally

500 ml mint or your favorite ice
cream

small gum drops °

candy corn

4 ice cream cones
black licorice laces
Cut red licorice into 48 (2 ¥) and
4 (8-inch) lengths. Tie the 8-inch
lengths in bows; set aside.

For each witch: Cut a I-inch
piece out of 1 doughnut-half to form
a notch in the collar; place cut-side-
down ona luncheon-size plate. Top
with a scoop of ice cream. For hair,

poke 12 (2 4-inch) licorice lengths
on opposite sides of the ice cream
scoop.

Make a face using gum drops for

eyes, candy corn for the nose and

pieces of black licorice laces for the
mouth and eyebrows.

To make the hat, lightly press the
cone into a doughnut. half cut-side
down and place on ice cream head.

Place a reserved licorice bow at ‘the
collar notch. :

Repeat; serve immediately or
place in the freezer until ready to
serve (up to 2 hours). Yield: 4 por-
tions.

The Versatile Shipyard i is a large, waterfront property at the foot of
Lonsdale Street in the City of North Vancouver. Most of the
shipyard i is permanently closed, leaving a site with tremendous
_ potential for urban development, public waterfront access,
amenities, and the general improvement of the Lower Lonsdale area.

The City.of North Vancouver, the Vancouver Port Corporation,
and the property owner all have a stvong interest in the future of
the Versatile Shipyard and how it is developed. These three parties

are cooperating in the preparation of a conceptual plan for the .

‘future use and development of the site. They have engaged
consultants to produce a pian by April 1997.

oo . The planning process includes several opportunities for public

_ consultation, including a scries of open houses at which the public
“can review background information, provide input, and comment
on planning proposals as they emerge.
