GAME OF THE WEEK by A.P. McCredie The Indians’ 10-8 away-game victory over the Burrard Lakers on Saturday night gave the North Shore squad sole possession of first place. The indians are: 11-0-1, while the previously undefeated Lakers are T]-1. Against Vancouver, the Indians found themselves down 5-2 at the end of 20 minutes. But a goalten- ding change for the North Shore team ~— Dwight Maethee in for Dennis Joseph — in the second period rallied the Indians to step up the pressure around the Killarney net. A too-many-men penalty mid- way through the second period threatened to put the Indians fur- ther behind, but some outstanding play. by Maetche and_ solid forechecking by Indian forwards Todd Katanchik and Brian Baker killed off Killarney’s two-minute man advantage. In the final minute of play in the second period, an Indians’ goal was called back, followed by a quick Vancouver goal that put Killarney ahead 8-5 going into the final frame.
