GVRD opposes
owen scheme

THE GREATER Vancouver
Regional District is opposed to the
inclusion of Bowen Island in a new
regional district composed of the
Gulf Islands, as recommended by a
standing committee of the B,C.
Legislature.
But if the province is determined
“tO proceed with the proposal, the
GVRD must be compensated for
Crippen Regional Park which it
purchased in 1983.

GVRD purchase and develop-

estimated at just over $2 million,
most of it coming from non-
Bowen Island residents of Greater
Vancouver.

Bowen Island is a member of the
GVRD. It is an unincorporated
