Records proken | RUN | | FOR THE MOST illuminating fun run in the Lower Mainland will take place Friday when the seventh an- nual Run For Light leaves its Lumberman’s Arch starting line at at 9:30 p.m. Last year over 3,000 people par- ticipated in the run, which is designed to increase awareness in and community participation of blind sports. Each run participant will receive a fluorescent light stick, a carton of milk, chances to win prizes and the option to get a glow-in-the- dark T-shirt. The run is organized by the B.C. Blind Sports Association and sponsored by the B.C. Dairy Foundation. Pre-registration is recommended and available at most community centres, fitness clubs, sports shops and schools, or by phoning 687- 0272. Participants can register at the run at Lumberman’s Arch anytime after 6 p.m. The entry fee is 36 or $12 depending on whether you want a T-shirt. The Run For Light is one of the premier events of Canada’s May 22 to 31 National Fit Week. A sim- ilar run will also be staged in Pen- ticton, Kelowna and_ possibly Prince George, and an additional 37 Runs For Light will take place across Canada.
