by the Matinée Lid. Fashion
Foundation last Tuesday.

Designs, Carole Sinclair of Cinema
Imports. and Design, Patricia
Fieldwalker of Arabesque Design,
Nancy Lord and Fiezal Virani of
House of Virani.

Though the designers are prohib-
ited from revealing the amount of
. their award, the grants are said to be
well into the thousands. _

“This grant is like someone
». deposited a Mercedes at my door and
said ‘Would you like this?, ” said an
excited Fieldwalker, whose line of
“silk lingerie is sold in specialty stores
in Canada and abroad, Fieldwalker °
said she will use the money to pur-
chase specialized machines for. the
application of lace and elastic.

‘Fieldwalker. has. just. recently
- sealed a deal with Neiman-Marcus to
distribute ‘her wares in 10: stores
across the United States...
