AR-OLD West Vancouver male faces break- and-enter-related charges following a break-in in the 2900-block of Palmerston Avenue in West Vancouver. The West Vancouver Police received an alarm from the address at 2:11 p.m. on Aug. 24. As the police responded, an officer spotted two young males waiking in the 2960-block of Mathers Avenue. As the youths saw tie unmarked police car, they began to run. The police confirmed the break and entry and alerted B.C. Transit about the suspects. The youths were ar- rested when the police stopped a bus in the 5500-block of Marine Drive. The West Vancouver youth faces charges of theft under $1,000 and break and enter. A 13-year-old male from Port Coquitlam, who was with the suspect, was not charged. A Vancouver Police dog called to the break-and-entry scene recovered items taken during the theft. Car recovered A BURNABY youtii faces theft-related charges following the recovery of a stolen car by the West Vancouver Police early on Aug. 24. According to a police spokesman, the car was seized during a routine roadblock at 1:10 a.m. at the junction of the Squamish and Upper Levels highways near Horseshoe Bay. The police stopped a red 1988 Honda Prelude and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Van- couver eartier that evening. The driver, Francis Reddy, 18, of Burnaby, now faces charges of motor vehicle theft and Possession of stolen property. Couple arrested A MAN and a woman, both of North Vancouver, face severat break-and-enter-related charges following arrests made recently by the North Vancouver RCMP. According to a Nori Vancouver RCMP spokesman, the burglary section initiated an investigation into several possible suspects following a recent rash of break and enters. On Aug. 25, members of the burglary section arrested iwo suspects after they broke into a home on Peters ‘oad. A charge of dangerous driving was laid against Wanek. A follow-up investigation has resulted in the laying of several edditional charges of break and enter sgeinst the pair. Camera stolen TWO TEENS face theft charges after the West Van- coirver Police recovered 2 stolen $2,560 Panasonic video camera. Accordizg to a police spokesman, the incident occur- red at 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Whytecliff Park. The owner of the video camera had set it down while at a concession stand when it was snatched. Shawn Stuart McFarland, 19, of Kamloops, and Jar- rod Keith Beck, 19, of Castlegar, face charges of theft over $1,000.
