While old-fashioned lamps with brass tops would be pretty, there is not much wrong with the present lamps, which admirably suit the flower bed arrange- ments. Trees and planters would be nice and their in- stallation would hopefully ensure that the sidewalks would be torn up and replaced with level concrete or, preferably, brick. Perhaps some of the store fronts could be made more attractive at the same time. However, rather than bring in some imitation turn-of-the- -century artifacts in the form of black lamp standards, surely it would do far more for the village appearance of Dundarave to remove our existing turn of the century artifacts, the telephone and power poles, and to put those services underground where they belong. 1 realize that this is an expensive procedure but at least a start could be made in really beautifying Dun- darave. I should point out that Mr. Ree is not my MLA —~ Mr. Davis is — but Mr. Davis has never bothered to respond to the two letters and half dozen phone calls I have made to him about the highway. Keep up the good work, Mr. Ree. It seems you must represent Mr. Davis’ constituents as well. R.G.
