Kids can meet a wolf or get some hands-on experience in mammal skull identification during the centre’s annual Wildlife Week. Every day there will be a dif- ferent focus, highlighted with feature films, talks, slideshows and cartcons. There will be prizes for the entries, plus mural paint- ing, a scavenger hunt and films all day. Wolf Day is Monday, March 16 and Tim Renshaw from Friends of the Wolf is bringing a wolf. He will also give a slide show and talk about wolves. There will be two films at 2 p.m., Cry of the Wolf and Wolf Puck. Tuesday, March 17 there will be three wildlife films, beginning at 2 p.m.: The Boy and the Snow Goose, The Lady and the Owl and Grey Owl. Discover the range of predators living on the North Shore Wed- nesday, March 18. From cougars and bears to the great horned owl, the centre’s Kevin Bell will show slides and give a talk at 2 p.m. There will be two films at 3 p.m.: Wild in the City and The Desert. On Thursday, March 19, bear expert Dr. Fred Bunnell will talk about “‘life in the slow lane."’ His presentation will focus on the hab‘ts of bears at 2 p.m., and will be followed by the films Polar Bear Capital of the World and Bears and Man. Friday, March 20 is Hoof and Horn Day, and children can learn to be ‘‘bone detectives”’ hands-on talk about identifying mammal skulls at 2 p.m. The films following are I’m a Mammal and So are Youand Island of Seals. Saturday, March 21, there will be tree planting at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner.
