Fest goes yearly

THE B.C. Festival of the Arts, the

largest showcase of dance, theatre, -

music, drama and visual atts in
North America, has been confirm-
ed as an arnual event, Bill Reid,
minister of tourism, recreation and
culture recently announced.

The municipalities wishing to
host the 1987 and future year’s
festivals were notified in August
and requested to submit bids by
Nov. 15.

PINOCCHIO and Geppette sing a song in Carousel Theatre Com-
pany’s musical Pinocchio, The show, which runs at the Waterfront
Theatre, Granville Island until Dec. 24, tells of the adventures of
Pinocchio, the puppet who comes to life, is swallowed by a whale, and
whose nose just grows and grows. Pinocchio is played by Nigel
Harvey and Geppetto by Barney O'Sullivan.

Seniors show art, play music ~

AN AFTERNOON of art, music
and refreshment is available to the
public at the West Vancouver
Seniors Centre.

The centre, at 24st and Marine
Drive, will be open from noon to 4
p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.

Artist Raymond Chow will
display watercolors, prints, books
and cards for sale. Live music will
be provided by pianists Chow,
Melinda Coffey and clarinetist
Gene Ramsbottom.
