Huot won the honor at the Pacific Baker’s exhibition, which was held in Vancouver in mid- August (11 to 13). In addition to the cup, Huot won honors in each of the five categories he entered, racking up three gold and two silver medals in the process. The hotel’s pastry cook, Sun K. Kheng, won a bronze and two gold medals at the competition. A total of 198 exhibitors in 19 classes took part in the competi- tion. SERGIO’S OYSTER BAR, 304 Lonsdale Avenue, North Van- couver AFTER close to $300,000 in in- terior and exterior renovations, Sergio’s officially reopened Aug. 27. In addition to modern interior paint tones and fixtures, the overhaul has added close to 36 chairs to the restaurant's new patio/sundeck, which overlooks the pedestrian and automobile traffic of Third Street. Dinner at the oyster bar guarantees diners free entrance to the adjoining Hippopotamus Club, which, depending on the amount consum- ed in Sergio’s could be very ap- propriate. The restaurant’s new menu has yet to be put under Table Hopping scrutiny. More when it has.
