The survival skills of the Tilley Hat ate so complete, chat back in 1980 its original design was thought to be impossible to make, Today it is hailed as “worlds best and most practical’, a title it earns daily. Every: Tilley Hat begins life as 10-ounce cotton duck that's been fully pre-shrunk and fortified against sain and mildew. Each is cut, fitted and fin- ished with conn mst, handcraftsmanship — 37 steps, start to finish. All the stitching is locked * using a very strong cotton-wrapped poly-core yarn. All the grommets — and eyelets are the best Brisish brass. All the work is guided by ruthlessly critical eyes. - . | Tilley Hats can float, .and, except for unusual seas, will do’so indefinitely. They are designed to fit more comfortably than ordinary hats, and stay on, breeze or blaw. | They may also be the best greaseless way to block UV-A and NB rays. All Hats have “sa difetime guarantee, "against wear; they even have a two-year insur- ance policy covering all perils, including toss, Oh yes, they're machine washable, one of the many facts made much of in the “Owner's Manual” thar we send with each Tilley Hat as it leaves for its new home.
