Twins set sights on Olympics

WHAT DO you do when
you’re a six-foot tall 17-year-
old girl?

If you have a twin in the same
bout, you might quit participating in
traditional high school sports like
volleyball and basketball and start
rowing together.

For the Dunnet twins, Katey and
Rachel, that choice wasn't difficutt
but making it happen was another
story. The honor roll students from
West Vancouver Secondiry have had
to hold down part-time jobs to help
pay for their equipment and trips to
various rices. On top of that they
need their evenings free to train.

“tvs: hard: balancing them both
(school and rowing)” says Katey, “I
spend a lot of ime doing my home-
work during, the day.”

The hard work is beginning to
pay off as next fall both are heading
south to one of the best-ranked row-
ing programs in the U.S. — the
University of Washington — on full

For his part, McClure who works
out of Burnaby, downplays his influ-
