pares the “minimal academic
requirements” of the West
Van secondary curriculum
with its recreational field
trips and “vast array” of
elective options (including
family life studies, crafts and
interior design).

“I feel we are teaching our
children to be consumers,
not producers,” she says,
“and that the increasing
emphasis on ‘social learning’
is not preparing them for the

abled children.

“I believe it is possible to
have a quality educational
system at a cost which is fair
to both our children and the
taxpayer,” she declares.
