Formula Ford championship after another first place finish at Westwood last Sunday. The North Vancouver resident took the chequered flag in the Canadian Association of Sports Cars race, overcoming a mid-race collision. Clifford was gridded on the pole and readily opened up a 10-second lead, which he maintained until Ric Payne lost control, over- turning his Tiga into one of the tre walls. Jackel, 22, is well-known at Simon Fraser University where his outstanding ability led the Clan through a successful season. ° Premier Bill Bennett presehted the awards, the province’s: most prestigious athletic honour’ which recognizes international achievement in sport. Administered by the Provincial Secretary's recreation and sport branch, each award is worth $2,500.
