depression and
disorientation.

Counseling psychologist
Emy Benjamin says that
although the snow has barely

made inroads here on a
White Christmas, she
already sees signs of

seasonal depression.

“But then the Christmas
hype starts early too,” said
Benjamin of McGill
University

Apart from the depression
that occurs over such cir-
cumstances as spending a
first Chnstmas without a
loved

one, Benjamin says
there is a lot of socially
induced = pressure, = par-
ticularly for women, thal

leads to a high incidence of
suicide, mental breakdown
and general inability to cope
through the hohday season

and if you feel it coming on,
there are some solutions.
