Like. .a ‘demeaning | soap

commercial, this form’ of
‘advertising is “playing with
words”, so that the average
person. is led to believe
‘something that is not there.

Allow me to explain.
Angus Ree, Social Credit
candidate for North Van-
couver-Capilano — has - cir-
culated an.cye catching,
high priced, leaflet which
outlines’ items .such as
Renters.  -:Grants,

Dear Editor:

I am dismayed at the
vandalism perpetrated by
opponents of the Social
Credit Party in the
provincial election,
removing and defacing signs
On my property. -

Every. Canadian over 18,
whatever his mental
capacity, can express his
preference at the polls.

Particularly disturbing -is
the addition of the swastika,
illustrating, to my mind, the
lack of education and. in-
telligence of some of the
supporters of the opposition,
who obviously are com-
pletely ignorant of the fact

This is deceptive. Most of
the. items in the. leaflet were

_presented in the last budget,

but-.the budget was never

Credit and national socialism
as practised in. Hitler’s
Germany and of which the
swastikaisthe symbol. —

However, if the damage
was done by young
hooligans, it is just one niore
example of today’s pitiful
lack of parental control.

e I think Dave Barrett ‘makes
an excellent point when he
asks the Socreds and Tories
to come clean. David is a real
pal and and like a pal, he is
the first to clean.

I think it is only fair for us
switchers to come clean. |
telly you, it isn’t easy waking

Up in the morning as a
Socred and going to bed as a
Tory. Not only do you have to
go to bed on one side and get
up on the other, but it is a
matter of the colour of
sheets. That Socred green is

just a little too much after a
night on the town.

Who pays for

Dear Editor: .
Why were the Dept. of
Highway trucks  beficath

Lions Gate bridge a week ago
Tuesday night carrying
Social Credit signs? Is it
possible that these are the
Socreds sign crews that are
putting up those lovely 4x8’s
that we sce everywhere?
Who was manning the trucks
that night? I certainly hope
that Dept. of Works employ-
ees are not being paid
overtime to handle these
duties.”

Now | imagine it is much
like going around snorting
and raving in the morning as
a big labour boss and in the
evening putting out a big
front as an N.D.Per.

In the morning there is the
bull charging after a share of
the profits and in the evening
the evangelistic soprano
damning all profiteers.

Now if they have as much
of a problem with the sheets
as with their roles, then one
would expect it would call for
several changes of linen.

the trucks?

As a concerned citizen 1
certainly hope that all of the
above jis not being dumped
upon the shoulders of the
working taxpayer. It is true,
and I strongly demand an
inquiry into this blatant use
of provincial employees,
doing the work of planting
election signs for the Socreds
once again at taxpayers
expense.
