“West Vancouver Police have arrested Herman. Philip,»
24, of no fixed address, on charges of raping a
16-year-old girl around 2 a.m. Saturday near Sunset
Beach, according to’ police reports. "The. suspect,
described as 5’ 7°’ and weighing 140 pounds, was

arraigned in West Van provincial court Tuesday and is
scheduled to reappear Jan. 25.

Some $3,000 worth of jewellery Including camera
equipment, men’s rings and women’s bracelets were
stolen from Kris’ Watch Shop, 1518 Lonsdale between
midnight Jan. 15 and Jan. 16, RCMP reports sald. Police
have a possible suspect. When they Investigated they

found that a window and the front door were broken.
