Judging from recent results at a high-calibre race in
California, two North Vancouver mountain bikers could well
raise the North Shore flag on the cross-country world stage in a
few years.

Argyle Grade 10 students Ben Sigson and Terry Garnett
placed first and second in the junior mens’ division of the season-
opening World Cup cross-country race in Napa Valley, Both rac-
ers plan to travel to Australia next month to take part in the
World Cup race in Sydney.

The North Shore high school mountain-bike racing season
opens this afternoon at the Blair Range. The seven race series cul-
minates with the B.C. Invitational May 29 at Grouse Mountain.
