Toys are an important part of
every child's life, especially art
Christmas, and the feeling of
giving a good one can be rewar-
ding. However, ‘tis the season
when even the most savvy San-
ta could use some help knowing
which toys to load an the sleigh.

If you're not accustomed to fre-
quently selecting toys, finding
one that will he a hit can be a
challenge. Your quest should not
be a difficult one, provided a few
basic cules are kept in mind.

that offer a massive dose of fun,
combined with challenge and
above all, safety.”

© Examine every toy for small
detachable parts. When shopp-
ing for a gift for a young child,
avoid toys with pieces that can
be broken off or swallowed.

© Run your finger over the toy’s surface.
Make sure that there are no sharp points
or edges that can poke or cut a child.

® The best toys offer a great deal of in-
teraction. Toys with varying levels that
children can aspire to provide incentive
and challenge.

® Make sure the toy is interesting to the
child. Toys that encourage children to
discover how things work, or what they
