joins the VSO

FRANCE'S Maurice Andre will j join the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra
under Kazuyoshi Akiyama forthe final concerts of the Jubilee series May
24, 25 and 27 in the Orpheum...

‘ Andre will. be featured in the two early 18th century works originally
written for oboe, but here arranged for virtuoso trumpet: Albinoni’s
Concerto in D Minor and Marcello’s Concerto in D Minor.

The most recorded trumpet. player in the world, Andre made his United
‘States debut in 1974 at Carnegie Hall.

Since that celebrated debut, he has performed regularly in the major
cities and with all the leading orchestras of the United States and Europe,
and is a regularly featured guest artist with orchestras at Carnegie Hall.
