by sarcasm, as hereditary
myth does not always coin-
cide with the credence of
practical scientific research.

1 understand the hatcheries
slaughter the salmon to col-
lect the egg stock re-
quirements, and then sel! the
slaughtered fish for food pro-
cessing. A practical approach
to conserving the continuity
of the fish species in rivers
such as Nanaimo River is to
apply a complete closure for
spawning runs, and give the
natives the hatchery surplus
on an application quota per
basis.
