C6 - Wednesday, August 15, 1984 - North Shore News BEE travel | i=a| CP AIR PROGRAM Travel Bonus cuts costs CP AIR recently announced the first Canadian free fre- quent traveller bonus pro- gram offering complimentary and discounted travel incen- tives to regular users of the airline and its travel industry partners in Canada and abroad. ‘*With the introduction of its Travel Bonus Program, CP Air is launching the most comprehensive and attractive frequent flyer program available to Canadians,’’ said Dick Huisman, CP Air vice- president, marketing ‘‘The advantage of CP Alpes pro- gram is its unique simplicity. ‘*Along with our travel in- dustry partners operating air, hotel and car rental travel services across Canada and around the world, the CP Air program offers more benefits to the frequent traveller. And it’s free of charge,’’ he said. The Travel Bonus Program is based on a point system and all members signed dur- ing the launch period will receive bonus points. CP Air users will have their mileage automatically track- ed by computer and those who reach the top award level will receive first class transportation for two to one 4¥ its international destina- a —~=._ Australia, Fiji, Honolulu, Heag_ Kong, Japan, Italy, Portugal, The Netherlands, Peru, Chile or Argentina. The system provides for rapid accrual of travel points every time a member flies CP Air, KLM, AirBC, Eastern Provincial and a U.S. trunk carrier whose participation will be announced shortly. Concurrently CP Air will be Participating in one of the U.S. trunk carrier’s program. Other travel industry part- ners will be added to the Travel Bonus Program as-it develops. Travel points are. ac- cumulated by class of service booked, air miles travelled and use of the designated hotels and car rental companies. Additional opportunities will be provided for par- ticipants to earn extra points by travelling on certain routes, staying at specific hotels or renting classes of cars designated from time to time in the CP Air Travel Bonus Program newsletter. Points are redeemable for a wide range of travel awards that are easily attainable at low mileage levels set in the CP Air Program. Awards in- clude class of service upgrades, discounted airfares and free or discounted hotel and car rates. At the top end of the point scale, awards ‘featured are free first class imternational airline uckets, deluxe -hotel accommodation and use of huxury rental cars. All Travel Boays Program members will receive a per- sonal membership card and number to be used to identify themselves to the par- ticipating companies. CP Air flights and travel points earn- ed are automatically tracked and logged by computer. A voucher system will be used by CP Ajir’s industry partners to record travel points on a member’s account.
