There are several cantres on the North Shore that provide
hearing tests and sell hearing aids. These tests are not
covered by the Medical Services Plan. However, in some
cases the examination charge will be applied to the cost of
the hearing aid if one is purchased. The test takes
approximately 1-1/2 hours and the cost of the test varies
between companies. Seniors may receive a discount. Ask
about options ie: T-switch and assistive listening devices.
You are entitled to a trial period before purchasing an ald, a
second opinion and possibly a copy of your audiogram.
