He reels off the computer jobs he has had — Scot Paper, BC Tel, CU&C Health Services Society, Canada Post, Canada Employment Centre and more. In 1992 the North Vancouver man incorporated a company called Paramount Computers Ltd. He left it dormant, happy to continue selling computers through a Vancouver retail outlet. Then the hours were reduced, It ‘took some of the joy out of his situation. The money squeeze caused stress. And then his father. passed away. ‘He had more to cope with. His own health deteriorated. “And then one day he was dri- ving and was struck by another vehicle. He landed in hospital. Hee, 52, lost his place of g vision High-tech hotbed is here seniority in the part-time pecking order at the comput- er store in the many months it took to regain his good health last year. Hee sees the North Shore as a natural location for Silicon Valley North. The hills are alive with the sounds of — software developers pumping out programs. The bitty guts of the machines are made here too. He wants to bring together the many ele- ments of an industry he sees around him. The catalyst Hee has come up with is something he’s calling the North Shore Computer Technology Fair. He plans to hold it in May. There's no location yet, but he’s trying to get an organiz- ing committee together to pull it off.
