THE FORMER roommate of two North Vancouver men accused of a triple murder in Washington State is before local courts again. By Anna Marie D'Angelo News Reporter Jimmy Hiroshi Miyoshi, 20, of Vest Vancouver, is charged for allegedly shoplifting two pairs of gloves on Jan, 9 from Lumberland in North Vancouver, He made a North Vancouver provincial court appearance last Wednesday on the charge. Miyoshi was previously before the courts in North Vancouver on a mischief charge. It was dropped last November. At the time the charge was dropped, Miyoshi had cut a deal with Crown lawyers in Vancouver. He agreed to be an informant and to testify against his friends, accused killers Atif Rafay and Sebastian Burns, both 20. In exchange for his testimony, Miyoshi would not be prosecuted for conspiracy to com- mit the murders. According to extradition hearing information presented in B.C. Supreme Court, Miyoshi is believed to have known that the slayings were planned in Canada wecks before Atif Rafay's parents and sis- ter were killed in their Bellevue home in 1994. A murder conspiracy charge car- ries a maximum life sentence, according to the Criminal Code. The mischief charge against Miyoshi and co-accused Rafay and Burns related to incidents alleged to have occurred three months after the murders and lasted for six months while the trio lived on Philip Ave. Neighbors complained to police that a search light had been shone on a Treat Yourself?! Rafay and Burns were ordered extradited on Feb. 2 to Washington State to face charges of pre-muditat- ed aggravated =o murder. Their lawyers are challenging the extradi- tion order.
