THE WILDLIF E sanctuary at Maplewood Flats officially "

opened to the public last Saturday, Sept. 16. The 75
acres of wetland are overseen by Wild Bird Trust (WBT).
. The land is owned by the Vancouver Port Corporation
and the District of North Vancouver. Hundreds of volun-
teers have spent the past several months building
wheelchair-accessiole trails and viewing areas, and cul-
tivating native trees and shrubs in the sanctuary.
