Home Odyssey ’94 to present the first lunar outpost

begins at the 1994 Spring B.C.
Home & Garden Show, where the
Greater Vancouver Home Builders*
Association (GVHBA) are present-
ing “Home Odyssey “94."

The Odyssey begins with
Discovery — the First Lunar
Outpost (FLO). The first home en
the moan comes to B.C. Place to
present the concepts for returning
to the moon, living on its surface
and adapting to its unique environ-
ment. Developed by the scientists
and engineers at NASA, the model
represents NASA's progress in
evolving strategics for habitation
systems, spacecraft designs and
actual missions.

This is the chance to walk
through and experience the three
major phases of lunar habitation
development. Even the carpet sur-
rounding the model is hand-painted
to look fike the actual surface of the
moon. See the FLO Lander in
phase one. The second phase will
be the inflatable habitat, represent-
ed by the exhibit's life-sized inflat-
ed dome and detailed interior. The
‘third phase will be the permanent
lunar habitat facility, represented
by a large Lunar Base model.

‘planned, designed and constructed
to be an accurate representation of

the Apallo program. man's first
landings on the moon, and NASA’s
lunar programs today. The exhibit
will expand viewer knowledge of
space and stimulate interest in engi-
neering, technology, science and
mathematics.

On exiting the Outpost, visitors
are faced with an innovative, enter-
wining look at the future of homes
on earth, The space-age comes
home to B.C. in an exciting display
of noteworthy building products
being incorporated into homes
today.

The demand for durable and
environmentally responsible hous-
ing is fuelling innovations in all
ares of the home-building and ren-
ovation industry. New products
designed to make a home more
comfortable, healthy and efficient
are showing up in everything fram
plumbing to roofing. Home
Odyssey °94 is the place to see
what's new and what's coming.
