The 20- year-old Hillside Secondary School grad, who repre- sented the Northshore Auto Family, made pageeat his- tory Saturday when she became the first) crown winner in 15 years to also win the Miss Personality contest. By Patrick Ravnard Contributing Writer Vickers, who hives in) North Vancouver and holds a sales posi- tion at Ming Wo in the Capilano Mall, told well-wishers at a recep- tion afterwards that) she was *“flabbergasted"” at) winning the coveted crown, Vickers’ prizes include a S600 modelling course from Modea Modelling, a $500 photography package from Gary Wildman Photography and $700 fresh water Pearls from Marigold Jewelry and Goldsmiths. Rebecca Hall, who was spon- sored by Sporting Look Clothing Ltd. and was the youngest com- petitor, was selected as the first runner-up and became the Miss North Shore Princess. Hall, 16, is a member of the Grad 1991 council at Handsworth Secondary Schoo! in North Van- couver. Vickers and Hall were selected from a slate of t1 women spon- sored by various North Shore businesses. The contestants were judged on such qualities as deportment, poise and public speaking abilities.
