On Sunday at Kinsman Stadium, Norvan had two goals disallowed for infractions before a corner kick by Nordic mid-fielder George Heniz deflected into the Norvan net off a defender to give Nordic a 1-0 half-time lead. After the break, Norvan again pressed for the equalizer and was rewarded with a penalty kick, but full-back George Heggie shot wide from the spot. The ensuing end-to-end action resulted in Norvau’s tying goal when George McLaughlin ran on to a through ball and hammered a shot into the corner of the Nordic net past a diving Dick Burns in the 75th minute. Regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw and both teams attacked furiously in an attempt to break the deadlock once the extra time started.
