22 - Sunday, December 3, 1989 - North Shore News Magee edges out Sentinel swimmers DESPITE SCORING 18 more points than last year, Sentinel Spartans came up just short of successfully defending their grand aggregate title at the B.C. high school swimming and diving championships when they were edged by Magez of Vancouver 219 to 211 at UBC pool Nov. 17-18. Coach Ted Pelly’s team, which a year ago ended a nine-year B.C. championship reign for Ceatennial of Coquitlam, were strong in the relays as usual. In speed swimming, Sentinel won the 200-metre mixed ‘‘A” medlay relay with a team of Litza Anderson, Andrea Sell, Adam Falles and Romin Gerels; came se- cond in the 200-metre girls ‘‘A”’ freestyle relay with Anderson, Bell, Cori Creed and Tara MacKay; and placed in the top eight with 13 other relay teams. In the synchronized relay, Robin Ambrose, Allison Campbell, Michelle Jay and Elizabeth Wren picked up second place. Lesley Wren was second in synchro fig- ures.
