Following the service, there will be a parade up Lonsdale to 13th Street, where Padre H. McDonald will tuke the salute from vetcrans, Nerth Vancouver RCMP, RCMP auxiliaries, members of the Six Field Engineer Squadron and focal cadet units. The North Vancouver Youth Band will be providing the music both at the cenotaph and for the parade. The parade will proceed to the Forbes Avenue armory. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2554 State of Washington will be joining in the ceremony. Two charged with armed robbery NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP have charged two Vancouver men with armed robbery. The charges stem from a robbery Sunday night at the Keg Res- tanrant on West Esplanade in North Vancouver. Two armed men ordered empi>yees into the kitchen of the res- taurant and forced the manager to open a safe at approximately 11:30 p.m. The men made off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, but police arrested the suspects two blocks from the scene. Charged are 24-year-old Darren Mel Erfel and 24-year-old Kevin Clifford Chambers, both of 4-7737 Main Street in Vancouver. NDP meeting set for tonight THE FOUNDING meeiing for the new West Vancouver-Capilano NDP constituency asseciation will be held tonight at Highlands Community School, 3150 Colwood Drive, North Vancouver. Local schools given grants CAPILANG-Howe Sound MP Mary Collins recently announced federal grants totalling $8,650 for three local schools. The North Shore’s German School, whick teaches German as 2 heritage language to 119 students, was awarded $3,680, while the North Shore Hebrew School Association was awarded §2,430, and the Northwest Chinese School Society was granted $2,540. The last two schools teach 58 and 62 students, respectively. All three grants were awarded under the Supplementary School Assistance component of the Cultural Enrichment Program. Said Collins: ‘“‘This program is very worthwhile in providing assistance for projects and activities which encourage the learning and preservation of heritage languages.’’ or Month targets Let Us Help theft from autos CRIME STOPPERS has declared November Theft From Auto Month. In B.C. alone over the past five years, there has been a 27 per cent incvease in total claims for theft from auto and vandalism. Total claims paid out amount to more than $23 miltion. Information on any person responsible for a theft from a vehi- cle, or any other crime, can be cafled in to Crime Stoppers at 669-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of anyone involved in a crime. Callers do not have to appear in court, or reveal an identity.
