The Brownies recently planted 120 daffodil bulbs on an embankment on Hoskins Road in North Vancouver to beautify the area as part of the pack’s community service program. Professional Day programs slated PROFESSIONAL DAY recreation programs for elementary students aged six to 12 years are being of- fered by the West Vancouver Rec- reation Department. The first program is planned for Friday, Oct. 21. Participants will spend the day involved in activities such as skating, swimming and bowling. The cost of the program is $20 for the day, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Children must be dropped off at the West Van- couver Ice Arena, 785-22nd St. at 9 a.m. and picked up promptly at 4:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a swim suit, towel and lunch. Rental skates and a snack will be provided. Registration is limited and will be held at the West Vancouver Recreation Centre, 780-22nd St., until Oct. 20. After-school action scheduled for kids EAGLE HARBOUR Community Centre offers a variety of afterschool! programs for children ages six to 13 years. On Tuesdays, children can par- ticipate in pottery or basketball basics and scrimmage. Both courses are taught by qualified in- structors and offer the fundamen- tals and fun. On Wednesdays after school, children can take part in tap and jazz dance, (een trampolining, become a certified babysitter in the Red Cross babysitters’ program or g0 bowling with Bowling Buddies. Gymnastics, ballet, pottery and junior scientists are offered on Thursdays after school.
