nography and hate litera-
ture, freedom of the press,
and foreign policy will be
discussed by Kirk Koerner in
a lecture series at UBC.

The series runs through
October at Lecture Hall 5,
Woodward Building, 2194
Health Sciences Mall, UBC.

The Centre has been look-
ing for more space for some
time and is pleased that the
United Way, North Shore
Division, with whom they

currently share space on
Pemberton Avenue, will
move with them. The Girl
Guides, Lion Area Council,
will also be joining them at
this new location.

The North Shore Informa-
tion and Volunteer Centre

provides a number of services
to the community.

It recruits volunteers for
organizations across the
North Shore, and provides
training, resources and sup-
port in the development of
volunteer programs,

Scholarship workshop
caters to gifted kids

ARTS UMBRELLA offers a
full scholarship multimedia
workshop for artistically
gifted young people.

The participants wil] have
the opportunity to work in a
variety of media, in which
technique and creativity will
be stressed. There is no fee
for these workshops.

Participation will be
juried, based on a portfolio
of three works submitted by
the applicants. Work can be
two or three dimensional.

Each workshop runs for
ten Saturdays from 1 to 3
