Disease that nobody has heard about

IF IT wasn't Spina Bifida
week, June 10-17, would you

For every one child with
muscular dystrophy (MD) —
8 children have Spina Bifida.

For every one child with
cystic fibrosis — 20 children
have Spina Bifida.

still compatible with quality
survival.

Thirty years ago over 90%
of babies born with Spina
Bifida died of complications,
now with aggressive treat-

ment at least 90% can live.

There is no known cause or
cure for Spina Bifida.

it can cost up to $15,000 in
a given year to have one of
these children in your home
and they get next to no sup-
port from either the provin-
cial or federal governments.

Travellers Spina Bifida
Association will be holding a
‘*Flea Market’’ on Sunday,
June 17 at the Cedar Hills
shopping centre in Surrey,
commencing at 10 a.m. at the
corner of 96th Avenue and
128th Street. All proceeds go
to the Children’s Clinic for
Spinal Bifida children.
